FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- While running back Steven Jackson returned to practice Wednesday off a hamstring injury, wide receiver Roddy White was nowhere to be seen as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury of his own.
White missed the first game of his NFL career last Sunday, still hobbled by both the hamstring and a lingering high-ankle sprain. Head coach Mike Smith refused to update White's status when he addressed the media on Monday.
The Falcons appear to be getting healthier even despite White’s status. Starting left tackle Sam Baker and tight end Chase Coffman were in practice gear Wednesday coming off knee injuries. Baker missed the last two games.
Also dressed for practice was linebacker Akeem Dent, who appeared to reinjure his ankle against Tampa Bay.
"I finished the game,’’ Dent said. "That’s the bottom line. Everybody has something (injury-wise) going on. So, you just have to go out and play the game.’’
Fellow linebacker Stephen Nicholas did not practice Wednesday after injuring his quad in last Sunday’s game.
