Harvin doesn't practice, still day to day

By Terry Blount

RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle receiver Percy Harvin did not practice Wednesday and continues to be day to day on his recovery from hip surgery.

“Once he gets on the practice field, it’s truly day to day,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday. “He is running in his rehab work. We have to see if he can tolerate it and give us a couple of days of work.”

Harvin, who had hip surgery on Aug. 1 to repair a torn labrum, hasn’t played since his season debut on Nov. 17 against Minnesota.

“We have to make sure he’s right and take our time,” Carroll said. “It has fluctuated where he’s gotten close, then it got aggravated a little bit. He just hasn’t quite gotten over the hump. He has a lot of new movement in that hip that he hasn’t had before and he’s trying to become accustomed to that.”

Cornerback Brandon Browner also missed practice with his groin injury. Browner, who hasn’t played since the Atlanta game on Nov. 10, still is awaiting word from the NFL on his appeal to a possible one-year suspension for a substance abuse violation.

“We don’t know anything league-wise,” Carroll said about Browner. “He won’t make it back to full-go this week, but he’s trying with hope that maybe next week he’s ready to go.”

Carroll said linebacker K.J. Wright had surgery Wednesday in North Carolina to have a screw placed in his broken right foot, an injury he suffered Sunday at San Francisco.

Center Max Unger participated in a walkthrough Wednesday morning, but did not practice because of a strained pectoral muscle. Carroll is hopeful Unger will play Sunday.

“We think he will make it,” Carroll said. “We will get him back, hopefully, [Thursday at practice].”

Also not practicing Wednesday were tight end Zach Miller (ribs), cornerback Richard Sherman (foot), linebacker Mike Morgan (knee) receiver Doug Baldwin (neck), running back Marshawn Lynch (shoulder) and defensive end Chris Clemons (not injury related).

Lynch rarely practices on Wednesdays. None of the others is believed to be an issue that would keep them from playing Sunday.
