Busy Day 2 lined up for Rams
By Nick Wagoner
INDIANAPOLIS -- It's Friday at the NFL scouting combine and along with that comes a rash of activity for the St. Louis Rams.
Many NFL head coaches and general managers took their turn speaking to the assembled media Thursday, even New England coach Bill Belichick, and more are on the way today.
Rams general manager Les Snead and coach Jeff Fisher are included in today's group. Snead is scheduled to join us at 1 p.m. ET and Fisher will follow soon after at 2 p.m. ET.
As per usual, don't expect Snead and Fisher to tip their hand too much on offseason plans or the draft but Fisher has been known to drop a tip or clue along the way.
Elsewhere, today should bring plenty of players of interest for Rams fans and the media circus surrounding Texas A&M Johnny Manziel should come to life at some point when he visits the media room.
Of more interest for the Rams could be the group of receivers that should stop by. Clemson's Sammy Watkins, Texas A&M's Mike Evans and USC's Marqise Lee are among the names to know that should be making an appearance. There are a couple of intriguing leftovers from yesterday that should also be stopping by. Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson and Alabama offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio didn't make it in Thursday so should be through at some point.
As for the workouts, kickers and punters will begin the on-field portion of the weekend. Receivers, quarterbacks and running backs have already begun getting their measurements done. For those wondering, Watkins checked in Friday morning at 6 feet and 3/4 inches and 211 pounds, pretty much as expected.
Stay tuned for plenty of Rams and prospect information throughout the day.
