Bucs question: Draft Aaron Murray?
By Pat Yasinskas
Time to reach into the mailbag for our question of the day.
Lee in Tampa asks if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers might take a late-round shot on Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, who is coming off a major knee injury.
That’s one to keep an eye on. If the Bucs don’t draft a quarterback in the first round, there’s a good chance they’ll take one later, and Murray would make plenty of sense.
He’s a local guy (a Plant High product) and he could be a nice value pick late in the draft because his injury is likely to cause his draft stock to drop. Murray might be a project as he recovers from the injury. But, once he's healthy, he might be able to challenge Mike Glennon for the starting job.
But the Bucs could make this a moot point if they draft a quarterback early and/or sign a veteran in free agency.
