Johnny Manziel's day far from over

By Tania Ganguli

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel did well in his pro day, the first time he's thrown for NFL personnel. He completed 61 of 64 passes and looked particularly sharp on deep balls.

Of the three incompletions, I'd say only one of those was truly a bad pass. One was bobbled and caught just out of bounds by receiver Mike Evans, a player many teams in attendance on Thursday morning in College Station were interested in. Another pass was dropped on a crossing route by one of Manziel's receivers.

Every team sent a representative except for the Bears and Browns. There were 75 total representatives from NFL teams including eight general managers and eight head coaches. And with that kind of crowd, Manziel's day is far from over.

He'll meet with five teams today, including the Jaguars and Texans, who have the third and first pick, respectively, in the draft. He'll also have meetings tomorrow. The Vikings, Raiders and Buccaneers are in the mix with scheduled meetings.

"Yes, any time you get a chance to spend time with these guys, that's kind of the thing I enjoy the most," Texans coach Bill O'Brien said. "Not for nothing, but you’re throwing against air. ... There's not a real rush here, there’s no DBs. To me, now, it's about now you got another chance. We met him at the combine, now we get another chance to sit down and talk with him."
