Rapid Reaction: Chargers 20, Cowboys 17
By Bill Williamson
ARLINGTON, Texas – Norv Turner went back to the place where he enjoyed his most success and showed the Dallas Cowboys, and their fans, what NFL football is all about: Winning in December.
The Chargers won their 16th-straight December game. Turner, who was Dallas’ offensive coordinator during its 1990s heyday, has never lost this month since taking over as the Chargers coach in 2007. San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers is 16-0 as the Chargers quarterback in December.
Dallas is 5-10 in December games since 2006. The Chargers (10-3), who have won eight straight games, lead Denver (8-5) by two games in the AFC West. San Diego also leads Cincinnati (9-4) by one game in the chase for the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the AFC playoffs. San Diego hosts the Bengals next week.
Both the Broncos and the Bengals lost Sunday, making it a perfect day for the Chargers.
It must be December.
