Colts prompting some of Ravens' flags
By Paul Kuharsky
INDIANAPOLIS -- A point about the Ravens’ penalties that touches on a pet peeve of mine.
Over in the live chat at NFL Nation some Baltimore fans are lamenting how the team is killing itself by drawing flags.
Through three quarters, the Ravens have seven penalties for 64 yards.
But they aren’t all about shooting themselves in the foot, no matter how much we repeat it.
Sometimes an opponent forces a penalty.
Dwight Freeney had Jared Gaither killed on a Ray Rice run, so Gaither held. Is that the Ravens killing themselves or the Colts killing the Ravens?
Was Ed Reed’s second interception undone by the penalty against Corey Ivy? No, it was created by Ivy’s pass interference that kept Dallas Clark for being able to make a play on the ball from Peyton Manning.
