CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Cardinals wasted a prime opportunity to score a rare victory on the East Coast, proving again that bad things tend to happen on the road.
From a botched extra point to costly turnovers deep in Carolina territory, the Cardinals found ways to lose a game they controlled much of the way.
They proved they can start quickly against a strong opponent, a big improvement over their most recent East Coast road game (56-35 defeat to the Jets in Week 4).
Kurt Warner was brilliant most of the game. His receivers, including Anquan Boldin, might have been better. And still it wasn't enough.
The outcome affirmed how difficult life can become without a serviceable running game to rely upon.
