Morrison a good add for Jaguars
By Paul Kuharsky
I like the Jaguars move to get Oakland linebacker Kirk Morrison, a restricted free agent I initially thought could garner an offer sheet or a trade offer during free agency.
Jacksonville gave up pick No. 108 in the fourth round and pick No. 158 in the fifth for Morrison, who played middle linebacker for the Raiders for five seasons. He was originally a third-round pick out of San Diego State.
He’s a good player and, I think, a good leader.
So the Jaguars revamped their interior defensive line with Tyson Alualu in the first round and D'Anthony Smith in the second. Now they got their middle man, who will allow Daryl Smith to play outside where he belongs.
Now it’s time to address the secondary with a corner, a safety or both and to see if there is an interior offensive lineman who can be an upgrade over Brad Meester of Uche Nwaneri.
