Anatomy of a ridiculous Cowboys play
By Matt Mosley
LANDOVER, Md. -- Well, at least we finally had some excitement. It took an incredibly bone-headed decision by Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips or whoever signs off on plays that have absolutely no chance of working. When the play at the end of the half broke down initially, Tony Romo should've simply fallen down and preserved the 3-0 deficit. And then there's the part about Tashard Choice fighting desperately for an extra yard -- when he only had about 70 yards to go.
The Cowboys have earned their sad little situation here at halftime. And the only reason the Skins didn't open the second half with a kickoff return for a touchdown was the open-field tackling skills of David Buehler.
