Wrap-up: Broncos 26, Titans 20
By Bill Williamson
Wrapping up Denver's 26-20 win against Tennessee:
What it means: The Broncos showed they are a resilient bunch. Despite many injuries, Denver went on the road and won a pretty impressive game after bumbling away a home game against Indianapolis last week. Denver is now 2-2 and has shown it is a competitive team.
Tomorrow's talker: Denver’s defense did a terrific job. It held star Chris Johnson to 53 rushing yards in 19 attempts. Stopping the run was a problem in Denver, but it doesn’t appear to be now. In general, Denver’s defense was excellent against the Titans. It allowed Tennessee just one offensive touchdown.
Trending: Denver’s offense continues to be wildly unbalanced. Quarterback Kyle Orton continued to his fantastic season with 341 passing yards on 35 of 50 passing. Receiver Brandon Lloyd continued his resurgent season with 11 catches for 115 yards, and Eddie Royal added eight catches for 113 yards. Denver had just 19 yards on 20 rushing attempts. Without starter Knowshon Moreno, who hasn’t been great in two games this season, Denver’s running game is nonexistent.
What’s next: Denver’s tough part of the schedule continues with a game at Baltimore next week before it travels home to host the Jets.
