Greetings from the Meadowlands

By Tim Graham

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Players aren't on the Meadowlands turf for warmups, but there's already a palpable energy here for Monday night's game between the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets.

Brett Favre, Randy Moss, Santonio Holmes, Darrelle Revis, Rex Ryan -- there are so many stars, they could film an Ocean's Eleven sequel here.

I'm not sure what the press box version of that film would be, but ESPN has dispatched a veritable "who's who?" of reporters and a couple of "who's that?" of bloggers (NFC North gadabout Kevin Seifert and me).

ESPN has three television reporters, including Sal Paolantonio and the usual "Monday Night Football" crew to cover all the angles, and there are lots of them. ESPNNewYork.com has five writers on scene, including Rich Cimini, Jane McManus and columnist Ian O'Connor.

You can listen to live pregame and play-by-play starting at 6 p.m. via ESPN 1050 in New York, the Jets' flagship radio station.

And don't forget to check out our "Monday Night Live" chat with Scouts Inc. analyst Matt Williams, Seifert, Cimini, McManus and me.

The referee for Monday night's game will be Peter Morelli. In what could be an aerial display -- the Jets and Vikings rank third and ninth in run defense -- it's interesting to note Morelli's crew has called pass interference just twice this year, one offensive and one defensive. And his crew has overseen some teams that throw it around the yard, including the Cincinnati Bengals and San Diego Chargers.

The kickoff forecast from The Weather Channel is for about 67 degrees with a 40 percent chance of a thunderstorm and negligible winds.
