Rapid Reaction: Patriots 49, Raiders 26

Posted by ESPN.com's Bill Williamson

The Oakland Raiders like to call themselves the Team of Decades. However, in the past several years, the joke around the Bay Area is that the outfit has become the Team of the Decayed.

Sunday with their home loss to the Patriots, the Raiders set a new standard for losing in the NFL. The loss dropped Oakland's record to 3-11 this season. It guarantees the Raiders will lose at least 11 games this season.

The Raiders are the first team in NFL history to lose at least 11 games in a season for six straight seasons. In a season where the Detroit Lions are on the verge of going 0-16 and will be remembered as one of the worst teams in the history of the league, the Raiders own the distinction of being the worst long-term team in NFL history.
