Bucs take long shot to find pass rusher

By Pat Yasinskas

The NFL’s trading deadline passed this afternoon with only one deal getting made around the league. But it involved an NFC South team.

Desperate for help in the pass rush, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers acquired defensive end Alex Magee in a trade with Kansas City. We don’t know the exact terms of the deal yet, but it’s believed the Buccaneers gave up a 2011 draft pick.

Don’t look for Magee to come in and immediately change a defense that’s last in the league with four sacks. Although Magee was a third-round pick by Kansas City in 2009, he’s done very little in his NFL career and fell out of favor with the Chiefs coaching staff this preseason.

Magee has made two tackles in very limited playing time this year. As a rookie, he had two sacks in 15 games.
