My take: If Denver is going to beet San Diego on Sunday it will come down to Cutler. He is the Broncos' best player. Since Denver's running game is in shambles, the Broncos will have to throw the ball to win the game. Cutler will have to be poised and in control if the Broncos are to salvage their season.
My take: First off, Edwards would never say anything else. He was in step with the vision to go younger so he has to stand by it. Also, the Chiefs really didn't have any other choice but to go young -- the team was lousy last season. They had to rebuild. The Chiefs may be 2-13 but they weren't expected to be significantly better.
My take: Cable said Monday he wants to remain in Oakland. He will likely kill his chances of staying if the Raiders lose to the Buccaneers. The Raiders are 3-8 under Cable with a lot of bad losses. A two-game win streak to end the season would help Cable get on the team's short list.
My take: If San Diego beats Denver on Sunday, it will erase a miserable regular season. Sure, San Diego was expected to finish better than 8-8. But a win would make the Chargers the first team to make the playoffs after startrting the season 4-8. So, a win over Denver would cure San Diego's 2008 problems.
