Rapid Reaction: Colts 31, Raiders 26
By Bill Williamson
OAKLAND –- A look at what became a meaningless game in Oakland.
What it means: The Raiders were knocked out of the AFC West race earlier Sunday when the Chiefs beat the Titans. Sunday’s loss dropped the Raiders to 7-8.
Tomorrow’s talker: The Raiders’ weird AFC season continued. Oakland is 5-0 in the AFC West, but finished the season 0-6 against the rest of the AFC. If the Raiders beat the Chiefs – who will likely be resting several key players – the Raiders will become the first team since the 1970 merger to sweep the division and not go to the playoffs.
Trending: Oakland quarterback Jason Campbell was just OK again. He completed 29-of-42 passes for 231 yards. Still, Campbell is likely doing enough for Oakland to lean toward keeping him in 2011.
What’s next: The Raiders will try to finish .500 for the first time since 2002 at Kansas City. That wasn’t exactly what the Raiders were hoping to be playing for in the season finale. But an 8-8 season would be progress for the Raiders, who haven't won more than five games in a season since 2002.
