Steelers top AFC North Power Rankings
By James Walker
No one is buying my claim that the Baltimore Ravens will unseat the Pittsburgh Steelers this season in the AFC North.
Oh well. I will stay on my island with that prediction.
ESPN.com released its first Power Rankings of the 2011 season. Our panel voted the Steelers No. 5 and Baltimore No. 9. I was the only voter to rate the Ravens (No. 6) slightly ahead of the Steelers (No. 7).
Regardless, the AFC North is shaping up to be a two-team race. The Ravens and Steelers will play at the beginning of the season in Baltimore on Sept. 11. That will be a huge tone-setter for both teams.
The Cleveland Browns were No. 30 and the Cincinnati Bengals were No. 32. Both teams will play in the Week 1 “Battle of Ohio.”
Did our panel get the AFC North right? Was there a team too high or too low?
