Oakland Raiders cash in on blocked punt

By Bill Williamson

DENVER -- So far, the Oakland Raiders have taken advantage better than the Denver Broncos have on big plays in enemy territory.

Oakland quarterback Jason Campbell just hit fullback Marcel Reece (who was wide open) for a three-yard touchdown pass to give Oakland a 7-3 lead over Denver early in the second quarter.

Oakland linebacker Darryl Blackstock set up the drive when he blocked part of a Denver punt late in the first quarter. It was Oakland’s first break of the game as the Raiders took over at Denver’s 36-yard line.

Earlier in the game, Denver turned a fumble recovery at Oakland’s 16-yard line into a field goal. This game has been pretty tight. It will be interesting it see if turnovers continue to play a key role.
