Halftime: Ravens 27, Jets 17
By Jamison Hensley
Thoughts at halftime of where the Baltimore Ravens lead the New York Jets 27-17:
- The Ravens ended the first quarter with a 17-7 lead. That isn't surprising. Baltimore has outscored its first four opponents, 52-7, in the opening period this season.
- Baltimore converted three turnovers into 17 points. The Ravens stripped Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez twice (by Ed Reed and Haloti Ngata), leading to a 6-yard touchdown return by Jameel McClain and a 26-yard scoring return by Jarret Johnson.
- The Ravens' defense isn't getting any help from the rest of the team. Special teams allowed a 107-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, and quarterback Joe Flacco had an interception run back 35 yards for a score. That's 14 of the Jets' 17 points in this half.
- Flacco finished the first half with 10 straight incomplete passes. He's 8-for-27 for 142 yards and one interception.
