QBR update: 'Fitz' better than Brady
By James Walker
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady admits he didn't have one of his better games Sunday in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Total Quarterback Rating reflects that, as Brady had his lowest QBR of the season.
Brady's statistics (24-for-35, 198 yards, two touchdowns) were decent, but some missed opportunities in key moments led to a 50.1 QBR. He had a key fumble on New England’s final drive that led to a safety and sealed the game for Pittsburgh.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick played very well. He registered a QBR of 84.1 in his first game since signing a $59 million extension. Fitzpatrick threw for 262 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in a 23-0 win against the Washington Redskins. He also fumbled a snap in the first half. Still, Fitzpatrick had the fourth-highest QRB in Week 8.
Miami Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore nearly put together a winning performance and had a season-high QRB of 65.2. Moore was 13-for-22 passing for 138 yards and one rushing touchdown. The Dolphins blew a seven-point lead in the fourth quarter to the New York Giants.
