On the ground in San Francisco
By Mike Sando
SAN FRANCISCO -- At stake for the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals at Candlestick Park on Sunday:
- A winning record. The 49ers haven't finished a season with one since 2002. They're 8-1 and can ensure no worse than a 9-7 season record by beating the Cardinals.
- Quarterback dynamics. The Cardinals are only beginning the Kevin Kolb era, but if backup John Skelton pulls out a victory for Arizona while Kolb continues to recover from injury, the team might need to stick with Skelton a while longer.
Either way, there will be ample storylines. I'm looking forward to the game and will head over to Candlestick Park in time to catch the early games on TV.
