Giants-Packers: Up first, Jason Pierre-Paul
By Kevin Seifert
The Green Bay Packers won at the New York Giants' home stadium in Week 13. They finished the regular season 15-1 and have opened as nine-point favorites in Sunday's divisional playoff game at Lambeau Field. They have won 13 consecutive games at home, dating back to October 2010.
Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is either unaware of those facts or doesn't care. In case you missed it, Pierre-Paul told reporters Sunday he is "100 percent sure" the Giants will win Sunday. Ohm Youngmisuk has the details for ESPNNewYork.com.
The money quote, via Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger: "We're going to win. A hundred percent we're going to win. ... Because we're the best."
If any Giants player has the stature to make such proclamations, it's Pierre-Paul. He was one of the NFL's best players this season, earning All-Pro honors after finishing the season with 16.5 sacks. He had a relatively quiet day in Week 13, however, going without a sack and managing three tackles in the Packers' 38-35 victory. He did knock down two passes.
Anyhoo, that's just something to get your juices flowing on an otherwise quiet Monday morning. For those interested, the Packers will reconvene Monday at Lambeau Field after a three-day weekend. Coach Mike McCarthy will speak with reporters at 4 p.m. ET. They'll have their normal day off Tuesday and resume a typical practice week Wednesday.
