RG3: Combine impression a positive one

By Mike Sando

INDIANAPOLIS -- NFL quarterbacks must play well to remain viable.

How well they handle the spotlight matters, too.

The impression Baylor's Robert Griffin III made during his NFL scouting combine media debut suggested the quarterback will have little trouble in that department.

Baylor's Robert Griffin III says he'd like to go to a team where "the head coach, GM, owner, everybody" wants him.
Matt Ryan and Sam Bradford stood out as quarterback material in previous combine sessions, but it was tough to recall a combine prospect as personable, comfortable, balanced and sharp as Griffin sounded at Lucas Oil Stadium. He came off as a natural, mixing humor with succinct points and rolling with whatever questions a large gathering of reporters threw his way.

A sampling: St. Louis Rams general manager Les Snead has held court here since Griffin finished. Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll is minutes away from taking his turn.

Sounds like the NFC West guy had better get moving.
