Browns draft OT Schwartz in second round
By Jamison Hensley
The Cleveland Browns surprisingly passed over a wide receiver and addressed their biggest need on the team by taking California offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz with the 37th overall pick.
Schwartz likely will start immediately at right tackle for the Browns. Entering the draft, Oniel Cousins was the projected starter.
This is a little bit of a reach for Schwartz, who was considered a third-round pick. A durable four-year starter, Schwartz has excellent size (6-foot-5, 317 pounds) and is a strong run blocker. That works well with the Browns' third overall pick, running back Trent Richardson.
Schwartz's brother, Geoff, is a guard for the Carolina Panthers.
