Torrey Smith's brother dies in crash
By Jamison Hensley
Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith's younger brother Tevin was killed in a motorcycle crash, ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reported. His brother was 20 years old.
Smith, who left the team hotel at 2 a.m., told Ravens coach John Harbaugh that he wanted to play in Sunday night's game against the Patriots, a source said. If Smith doesn't play, Jacoby Jones would start in his place.
On Sunday, Smith posted on his Twitter account: "I can't believe my little brother is gone...be thankful for your loved ones and tell them you love them...this is the hardest thing ever."
Smith also posted a photo of him and his brother, who was wearing his Ravens jersey: "I can't say a bad thing about him. Proud to have him as a brother. RIP Tevin."
Smith's family has been a big part of his life. Growing up in Virginia, he helped raise his six younger siblings while his mother attended community college during the day and worked at night.
