Ryan Kalil might be done for season
By Pat Yasinskas
What already has been a bad season for the Carolina Panthers might be getting worse.
Coach Ron Rivera told the media on Wednesday that Pro Bowl center Ryan Kalil could miss the rest of the season with a foot injury.
“It’s really not looking good right now,’’ Rivera said.
Kalil suffered the injury in Sunday’s loss to Seattle.
Geoff Hangartner and Jeff Byers also can play center. But Hangartner missed Sunday’s game with an injury. The Panthers have a bye this week, which will give them a little time to sort out how they will handle the center position.
Rivera said the Panthers might place Kalil on injured reserve, which means they soon could be signing another center.
