Seahawks: Nine weeks to figure out 49ers
By Mike Sando
The San Francisco 49ers' 175-yard rushing performance against the Seattle Seahawks came as a surprise Thursday night.
Seattle's defense had not allowed a 100-yard rusher before Frank Gore gained 131 in this game. The Seahawks had not allowed more than 87 yards rushing to any team over the first six games.
The 49ers have been a very strong rushing team, however, and they rushed for 178 yards against Seattle in Week 16 last season.
The chart shows the 49ers' offensive production against Seattle in that game and Thursday.
The 49ers had 32 carries for only 85 yards, a 2.7-yard average, during their Week 1 victory over Seattle last season. San Francisco finished that game with 209 yards.
The teams will play again this season in Week 16 at Seattle.
