Patriots have two weeks to prepare Talib
By James Walker
The New England Patriots are on their official bye week. But next week will be an unofficial bye for new cornerback Aqib Talib.
New England will have two weeks to prepare its newest addition and get Talib game ready. Talib still has one game left of a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancement policy.
Therefore, Talib will miss the Nov. 11 game against the Buffalo Bills. He is projected to make his Patriots debut Nov. 18 against the Indianapolis Colts. The extra time should be enough for Talib to get back in football shape and learn New England’s playbook.
Talent has never been a question for Talib. He has the physical tools to eventually be a starter in New England.
The Patriots cut cornerback Sterling Moore, Kyle Arrington is working through a head injury and Devin McCourty is being used more as a safety. The opportunity certainly will be there for Talib to make an immediate impact. The quicker Talib gets acclimated, the better for the Patriots.
