It's time for Mario Williams to produce
By James Walker
It's the injury story that just won't go away.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams played with a torn ligament in his wrist this season. A team source said Williams basically was playing with one arm this year.
Williams had surgery during Buffalo’s bye week, and the Bills expect Williams to have a big second half of the season. So far the $100 million free-agent acquisition has been a disappointment. He’s recorded just 16 tackles and 3.5 sacks in seven games.
Now that the injury is fixed, there are no more excuses for Williams. It’s time for the defensive end to produce. This is a crucial stretch for Buffalo, which travels to play Williams’ former team Sunday: the Houston Texans.
That’s a good place for Williams to start turning around his poor 2012 season.
