Jordy Nelson is active for Packers
By Kevin Seifert
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers have a bye after Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, a schedule that suggested they might play it safe with receiver Jordy Nelson (hamstring). But Nelson will be in uniform for this game after missing most of the past two weeks of practice.
I guess we should wait and see how much the Packers use Nelson, given the success of James Jones and Randall Cobb this season. But he'll be available if they need him.
The same is true for Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson, who is active despite a knee injury that forced him to miss the entire week of practice. He warmed up Sunday morning with a large wrap on his left knee.
The Lions won't have three defensive starters for this game: Linebacker DeAndre Levy (hamstring), safety Louis Delmas (knee) and safety Amari Spievey (concussion).
