It's official: Percy Harvin won't play

By Kevin Seifert

MINNEAPOLIS -- As was apparent all week and reported Saturday night by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Minnesota Vikings won't have receiver Percy Harvin (ankle) for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. With all due respect to the rest of the players on the Vikings' roster, it's hard to imagine how the Vikings will move the ball effectively without the help of the NFL's leading receiver.

Rookie receiver Jarius Wright is active for the first time this season, but there hasn't been an announcement about a replacement in the starting lineup. The Vikings might want to consider a three-tight end lineup to maximize blocking for tailback Adrian Peterson.

Meanwhile, the Lions won't have nose tackle Corey Williams (knee) for this game. Nick Fairley will start in his place. Safeties Louis Delmas and Amari Spievey are also inactive, meaning Erik Coleman and Ricardo Silva will start.
