Steelers: Leftwich will start Sunday

By Jamison Hensley

It's official: the Steelers have announced that Byron Leftwich will start Sunday against the Ravens. He will replace Ben Roethlisberger, who sprained his right shoulder on Monday night.

This will mark Leftwich's first start since Sept. 27, 2009. That will be a span of 1,148 days come Sunday. His career record as a starter is 24-25.

Leftwich has gone 1-1 against the Ravens in his career. He has completed 38 of 64 passes against Baltimore, throwing for 419 yards. Leftwich's passer rating is 82.7 with two touchdowns and one interception.
