Schefter: Rob Gronkowski has surgery
By James Walker
New England Patriots Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski isn’t wasting time getting healthy. Gronkowski underwent surgery on his broken arm Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The sooner the surgery, the better it is for Gronkowski and the Patriots. He was injured less than 24 hours ago and is already going under the knife. The timeline is reportedly several weeks.
New England’s top-rated offense will be fine without Gronkowski in the short term. The Patriots can still win in the regular season without Gronkowski in the same way they have won without fellow tight end Aaron Hernandez. However, New England needs "Gronk" back for the playoff run.
