The Atlanta Falcons got a jump on Tuesday's deadline for cutting rosters to 75 players when they released three players Sunday afternoon.
Defensive tackles Jason Jefferson and Tywain Myles and long-snapper Robert Shiver were released. Jefferson's the only one remotely close to a surprise because he did appear in 13 games for the Falcons last year, but the team upgraded at defensive tackle in the offseason, particularly by drafting Peria Jerry in the first round.
All rosters have to be down to 75 players Tuesday. The final cut to 53 players has to be reported to the league office by 4 p.m. ET on Saturday.
