Ravens to rest six starters today
By Jamison Hensley
The Ravens are going to use Sunday's regular-season finale to rest six banged-up starters.
Baltimore announced that inside linebacker Ray Lewis (triceps), outside linebacker Terrell Suggs (biceps), defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (knee), wide receiver Anquan Boldin (shoulder), guard Marshal Yanda (shoulder and knee) and safety Bernard Pollard (chest) all will be inactive. Wide receiver Tandon Doss also will not play.
The Ravens (10-5) have already clinched the AFC North title. They could improve to the No. 3 seed for the AFC playoffs if they beat the Bengals and the Patriots lose at home to the Dolphins.
For the Bengals, the only starter not playing is cornerback Terence Newman, who was questionable with a groin injury. Nate Clements will start in his place. This is a meaningless game for Cincinnati (9-6), which is already locked into being the No. 6 seed.
The other inactives for Cincinnati are: CB Jason Allen, WR Dane Sanzenbacher, S George Iloka, DT Devon Still, DT Brandon Thompson and TE Richard Quinn.
