John Harbaugh pranks his parents
By Jamison Hensley
OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- A prankster created an awkward moment during Thursday's national conference call with the parents of Super Bowl coaches John and Jim Harbaugh.
“Question from Baltimore: Is it true that both of you like Jim better than John?”
Jackie Harbaugh, the proud mother, began to reply, saying, "We do not ..."
But Jaoni, the sister of the Super Bowl coaches, put an end to the shenanigans. “Is that John?” Joani asked.
"Is that John Harbaugh?" Jack Harbaugh said. "Hey, John, mom was ready to come right through this phone. I'm so happy that Joani recognized your voice."
It's good to see the lighter side of John. In the past, he could get a little terse before big games. It's nothing personal. I always chalked it up to his intensity. He gets in a mode where it becomes all business to him.
It's hard to argue with the results. In five seasons as head coach, the Ravens have made the playoffs five times, won eight postseason games and reached the AFC Championship Game three times. Now, he has guided the Ravens to their first Super Bowl in 12 years.
