Wilson to Fitz: Not a bad West connection

By Mike Sando

What a thrill it must have been Sunday for Seattle Seahawks rookie Russell Wilson to find Arizona Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald for a 9-yard touchdown reception.

The Pro Bowl, though lacking in the drama that makes regular games compelling to watch, remains a highlight for players.

Wilson tossed three scoring passes in his first six attempts, two of them after the NFC squad took over possession inside the AFC's 20-yard line. The three scoring passes capped a stretch of six consecutive possessions producing touchdowns for the NFC.

I'm traveling to New Orleans for Super Bowl week and haven't been able to watch much of the game -- the NFC leads, 62-28, as I write this midway through the fourth quarter -- but it's looking like NFC West players are having a good time.

Seahawks safety Earl Thomas picked off a pass. Teammate Leon Washington had a 92-yard kickoff return. Fitzgerald had the scoring reception from Wilson.

The fact that Seattle's Marshawn Lynch played in the game and scored a touchdown suggests the foot injury he suffered against the Washington Redskins in the playoffs wasn't particularly serious.
