Report: Browns trade for WR Davone Bess
By Jamison Hensley
The Cleveland Browns didn't have a second-round pick, but they apparently were still busy during the round.
The NFL Network is reporting that the Browns have traded for Dolphins wide receiver Davone Bess. According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, no actual picks were given up. The Browns and Dolphins are swapping picks in two rounds, including the fourth.
Bess, 27, who is 5-foot-10, 193 pounds, also agreed to a three-year deal, according to the NFL Network. He adds experience and consistency to a young Cleveland receiver group. Over the past four seasons, Bess has averaged 66 catches. Last season, he had 61 receptions for 778 yards and one touchdown.
Josh Gordon and Greg Little are expected to remain starters for Cleveland. The other receivers are: Travis Benjamin, David Nelson (who is still recovering from knee surgery), Jordan Norwood and Josh Cooper.
