Mike Tomlin joins the Twitter-sphere

By Jamison Hensley

For a head coach who doesn't like to mince words, it seems like the 140-character place in cyberspace is a good fit.

The Pittsburgh Steelers' Mike Tomlin joins a small group of NFL head coaches who are on Twitter. You can follow him at @CoachTomlin.

His first tweet

Hello Twitter. Expect no BS from me. Just straight fire!

— Mike Tomlin (@CoachTomlin) July 26, 2013

I was a little skeptical that this was actually Tomlin because his first tweet wasn't: "The standard is the standard." But the official Twitter account for the Steelers verified it was Tomlin, who opened his account on the day the team is reporting to training camp. There's no truth to the rumor that Tomlin is signing up for Pinterest next.

The only other NFL head coaches who I know about on Twitter are: the Seahawks' Pete Carroll, the Lions' Jim Schwartz and the Cardinals' Bruce Arians.
