Head cold sidelines Aaron Rodgers
By Rob Demovsky
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Whenever Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers misses a practice -- and it does not happen very often -- Packers' fans get nervous.
But in this case, when Rodgers was absent from Tuesday’s workout, there appears to be no reason to worry.
Coach Mike McCarthy said after practice that Rodgers was held out because of an illness. It was the first time Rodgers has missed a practice this training camp.
“I think we’re all aware that there’s some stuff going around at this particular time, and Aaron’s one of the many thousands of people that has a head cold,” McCarthy said. “I think he’s going to be fine.”
McCarthy said Rodgers is expected to return to practice on Wednesday.
His absence gave backups Graham Harrell, Vince Young and B.J. Coleman increased reps. I’ll have more about their performances in the daily practice report to be posted later.
