Time quickly expiring for Ed Reed decision
By Tania Ganguli
The timeline for safety Ed Reed's recovery has been a moving target, much like the timeline on running back Arian Foster's recovery.
But the words used by Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak about Reed so far have been much less certain than his words about Foster, who came off physically unable to perform list last week.
"I think we're going to really have a good idea when we come out of this week," Kubiak said about Reed during his news conference Monday. "He is in Vail today getting some injections and spending time with his surgeon."
Kubiak added that the next step for Reed would be going back to Atlanta before returning to Houston.
Having a clear idea of Reed's progress will be very important at the end of the week. If Reed remains on the PUP list after second cuts on August 31, then he will be placed on the regular-season PUP list. That will mean missing at least six games.
