Chargers looking lean at O-line
By Eric D. Williams
SAN DIEGO -- Four projected starters on the San Diego Chargers' offensive line were not suited up for the beginning of practice here on Wednesday, a dubious sign for the team facing one of the best pass-rush units in the NFL in the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
Left tackle King Dunlap (concussion) and left guard Chad Rinehart (toe) were not visible on the field at practice. Center Nick Hardwick came out late with his left leg wrapped, and starting right guard Jeromey Clary watched from the sideline with a baseball cap on.
However, D.J. Fluker (concussion) did return to practice. Others practicing included middle linebacker Donald Butler (groin) and Manti Te'o (foot) and defensive back Johnny Patrick (hamstring).
Cornerback Shareece Wright (hamstring) and receiver Malcolm Floyd (neck) remain out.
Pass-rusher Melvin Ingram, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in May, looked good working on a side field with a trainer during practice.
