Cowboys' Miles Austin to miss practice

By Todd Archer

IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin will not practice Thursday because of a hamstring strain, according to a source, raising doubts as to whether he will be able to play Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

Austin
Austin did not play Sunday at the San Diego Chargers. He suffered the injury in the third quarter of the 31-7 win against the St. Louis Rams on Sept. 22. Coach Jason Garrett said the injury was not as serious as the strains that have hampered Austin the past two seasons. He did not miss a game in 2012, but missed six games in 2011 because of hamstring injuries.

Austin has been running the past few days and Garrett said there has been improvement, but apparently not enough for him to return to practice.

Defensive end George Selvie will miss his second straight day of practice as he continues to recover from a concussion in the loss to the Chargers. Selvie is following the league’s concussion-related protocol but is expected to be able to play against the Broncos.
