Locker Room Buzz: Seattle Seahawks
By Terry Blount
SEATTLE -- Observed in the locker room after the Seattle Seahawks' 20-13 win over the Tennessee Titans:
Botched field goal talk: The fumbled field goal attempt at the end of the first half that became a 77-yard touchdown for Tennessee cornerback Jason McCourty was easy to laugh about after the team managed to win. But coach Pete Carroll said the Seahawks should have gone for fourth down at the Titans' 4 because kicker Steve Hauschka was out of the game at that moment.
Ryan wanted the field goal: Punter Jon Ryan on attempting a field goal for the first time in a regular-season game. “I really wanted that field goal,” said Ryan, who is Canadian. “I wanted to give that ball to my mum.”
Good enough: Cornerback Richard Sherman on winning despite all the mistakes the Seahawks made: “We’re happy to take the ugly girl to the prom.”
Clemons hurt: Defensive end Chris Clemons has a hyperextended elbow, and his status for Thursday’s game at Arizona doesn’t look good.
