Jones hopes Murray returns this week

By Calvin Watkins

Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said he hopes injured running back DeMarco Murray returns to practice this week. Murray missed the Philadelphia game on Sunday with a sprained left knee.

Murray did some running on Monday, along with some other injured Cowboys players including defensive end DeMarcus Ware (thigh), wide receiver Miles Austin (hamstring) and running back Lance Dunbar (hamstring).

Austin played in the Eagles game but wasn't 100 percent and was limited in his snaps.

Dunbar is expected back this week after missing the past two games with his injury.

"They all had good Mondays," Jones said Tuesday morning on his weekly radio show on KRLD-FM. "Mondays is when they come out, generally if they've been out a week or weeks, they will really stretch out and be really aggressive with their running. All these guys ran good Monday. We'll see how it goes. We will be guarded as to how we bring all of these guys along."

Jones said the team will continue a cautious approach regarding Ware's injury. Ware, who missed the first game of his career on Sunday against the Eagles, is being judged on a week-to-week basis.

"We're in good shape at running back [but] I wish we were in that good of shape at defensive end regarding Ware," Jones said. "We want to watch this. He's got the type of injury that if it comes back to fast, he doesn't have a tear there now, he doesn't have an imperfection. If he tries and goes to early he could get an imperfection that's another world relative to how he'll be back."
