Power Rankings: No. 17 Tennessee Titans

By Paul Kuharsky

A weekly examination of the Titans' Power Ranking:

Preseason: 16 | Last Week: 16 | Power Ranking since 2002

A third consecutive loss only cost the Titans one spot in’s NFL Power Rankings. It says, I think, a lot more about the teams behind Tennessee than it does about Tennessee.

The team that beat the Titans, the 49ers, moved up one slot to sixth.

So the Titans have losses to the first, fourth, sixth and 26th teams in the poll and wins over No. 12, No. 15 and No. 25.

Tennessee is off this week before visiting No. 27 St. Louis.

Here’s our weekly update on where the Titans stand:

The high vote belongs to ESPN senior writer John Clayton. The low vote is the property of Giants reporter Dan Graziano. I am sure they’d love to hear from you.

In the AFC South, the Colts have climbed all the way to second. The free-falling Texans are 26th and the Jaguars are holding steady at 32nd.
