PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers right tackle Marcus Gilbert won't play Sunday -- as expected -- after injuring his ankle last week in practice.
Gilbert and linebacker Ryan Shazier are among the Steelers players who have been de-activated for Pittsburgh’s 1 p.m. ET game against the New Orleans Saints.
Mike Adams will start in place of Gilbert for the second time this season. Sean Spence and Vince Williams will play in place of Shazier at weakside inside linebacker.
Shazier, who had been questionable for today's game, will miss his third consecutive contest because of a high ankle sprain.
Starting nose tackle Steve McLendon (shoulder) and cornerback Cortez Allen (thumb) also won’t play today because of injuries.
The Steelers’ healthy scratches include wide receiver Justin Brown, cornerback B.W. Webb and quarterback Landry Jones.
