Is it the quiet before the storm?
The silence leading up to Monday's NHL trade deadline has been resounding, providing few clues on what, if any, big moves could go down. Craig Custance surveys the landscape and prepares for what figures to be an unpredictable deadline day:
Last night, after a long day of silence on the trade front, I checked with one NHL GM who has a player he's shopping to see how much interest he was drawing.
"Not enough," he answered. "It's dead." Other general managers echoed that frustration this morning.
