Predators clinch playoff spot

The Nashville Predators clinched a postseason berth for the seventh time in the past eight season without even taking the ice on Wednesday night. The Sharks loss in regulation to the Ducks sealed the Predators playoff ticket.

Currently in fifth place in the West, the Predators would face the Detroit Red Wings in the first round if the playoffs started today. With 96 points, Nashville has five games left to try to surpass the 100-point mark.
