- Ottawa Senators star center Jason Spezza has signed on with Rapperswil-Jona of the Swiss Elite League, his agent Rick Curran confirmed to ESPN.com Wednesday.
- Alex Ovechkin signed with the KHL's Dynamo Moscow and is already practicing with the team, according to Russian reports. (NBC Washington)
- St. Louis Blues players turned their jersey's inside out to hide the team's logo as they practiced. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
- Brian Burke blasted former Leafs goalie coach Francois Allaire, posting a message on the team's website that any interference was "done to change elements of our goaltending that was subpar." (The Toronto Star)
- Milan Michalek said he is recovering well from abdominal surgery and is possibly ahead of schedule in his rehab which was expected to take four-to-six weeks. (Ottawa Citizen)
- The city of Nashville owes the Predators $8.6 million in subsidies this season even if no games are played. (The Tennessean)
